Delta Zeta Crowns the 2010 Miss U of L |

On Wednesday, March 3, 2010, the Delta Zeta sorority at the University of Louisville hosted the 2010 Miss University of Louisville pageant (a Miss Kentucky/Miss America Preliminary pageant). Delta Zeta awarded $9,000 in scholarship money to the top three contestants in addition to $2600 in in-kind gifts to all 14 contestants. University of Louisville Music School student, Melanie Brison, was crowned the 2010 Miss U of L and now will compete in the Miss Kentucky pageant in July. Melanie also received the Miss U of L Community Service and evening gown awards. Kristin Pendley won the Miss Photogenic Award. In addition to Melanie, the four finalist included; 1st runner-up/Amelia Gandara, 2nd runner-up/Lauren Drake, 3rd runner-up/Lindsey Miller, and fourth runner-up/Kristin Pendley. Melanie, will now represent the University of Louisville to compete in the Miss Kentucky pageant in July. For more information regarding the

The Beta Gamma chapter of Delta Zeta dominated this year's homecoming celebration at the University of Louisville. The chapter won the Greek Homecoming Spirit Award (with our fraternity partners - Phi Kappa Tau and Tau Kappa Epsilon)! Senior, Nicole Wells-Anik (left - below) served as the Homecoming chairman. Senior, Karen Clough (right - below) was named to the top 10 list of homecoming queen candidates and was elected to homecoming court. Senior, and chapter president, Debbie Whitelock was also named to the top 10. Delta Zeta's Beau, Michael Rolf was nominated by Delta Zeta as a king candidate and was named to the top 10 and also voted on to the king court. |

On Tuesday, January 8, 2008, December Parker (left) was named as one of the five young women were selected from a group of 28 Derby Festival Princess finalists. Those 28 were chosen from the original group of 114 applicants from 19 schools in Kentucky and Indiana. She is photographed with Beta Gamma alumnae and former princesses, Tara Lutz Schwartz (center) and Rachel Shee Overstreet. (Tara was actually crowned Queen of the Kentucky Derby Festival). The Beta Gamma chapter has a long line of members who have been selected as princesses. The Derby Festival Princesses act as ambassadors for the Derby Festival and the city as they represent the community at a variety of functions, including an appearance on NBC's Today Show.
