Build-A-Bear Project the for Starkey Hearing Foundation

Delta Zeta Alumnae and the Beta Gamma chapter members met at the Build-A-Bear to donate bears to the Starkey Hearing Foundation;  we have collaborated on this project each year for the past two years.  The SHF visits third world countries thoughout the year providing hear test and hearing aids to those in need. Delta Zeta has partnered with the SHF to provide bears for the children who receive hearing aids. The Louisville alumnae chapter and Beta Gamma chapter (University of Louisville) have donated over 70 bears to the SHF.

Delta Zeta is proud to support the Starkey Hearing Foundation.  Click on the video below to learn more about this non-profit organization that is helping to change the lives of those who cannot hear.

OUR SERVICE NATIONALLY

SchoolCenter Picture
Delta Zeta's national philanthropies are Speech and Hearing and The Painted Turtle camp. T he Delta Zeta Foundation supports Galludet University (the only college in the world for the speech and hearing impaired), the House Ear Institute and the Better Hearing Institute.  The Foundation also makes annual hearing grants to Delta Zeta Alumnae chapters to assist hearing centers, schools and clinics.

The Painted Turtle is a camp for chronically and terminally ill children.  This organization was just adopted by Delta Zeta as one of our philantophic causes at the 2006 national convention.

The Foundation, established in 1961 has the primary mission to advance the Sorority's educational and philanthropic purposes through the development of financial and human resources in support of the sorority's leadership, scholarship, philanthropic and educational programs.

The Beta Gamma Chapter of Delta Zeta supports the DZ Foundation each year through our fundraising efforts.  Proceeds from our annual DZ auction are sent to the Foundation.  In addition our individual chapter members support the 1902 Loyalty Circle which is exclusively an undergraduate giving society, renewed annually with a minimum gift to the DZ Foundation of $19.02 by a collegiate member.
